David brings with him an unmatched talent for creating high-quality content for children, a talent that has been recognised with seven Daytime Emmy nominations and two BAFTA nominations as a producer and director over his 35 year career.
He has a full understanding of production from scripts, storyboarding Directing, Animation, Camera & Previz, HD video online, Sound mixing to Final picture output. Specialising in reimagining literary proprieties past and present like `Beatrix Potter's, 'Peter rabbit', Enid Blyton's `Noddy in Toyland.' as well as current authors characters and worlds to life Olivia, Stinky and Dirty, Ada Twist the Scientist & Loren Long's 'Otis the Tractor' . Along with creating and producing two original series.
Drawing from over thirty plus years of experience in both traditional 2D and CGI animation he Looks for the best fit to reimagine the characters and worlds. Peter Rabbit went on to win six daytime. & three nominations for David for best director.

THE LONG WINDED VERSION
David started his career in 1986 on 'An American Tail' with Don Bluth Studio's. He moved to Los Angeles in 1990, working on numerous features before joining Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1992 working on award winning films, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hunchback and Hercules. On Tarzan he held the position of Supervising Digital Background Artist where he pioneered Digital background painting at the studio and was a key member involved in the development of a new 3D digital Painting system called DEEP CANVAS.
Returning to Ireland in 2000 David created and directed 'The Island of Inis Cool', a (26x13) TV series which used miniature sets with CGI characters to give the look of stop motion.
He joined Brown Bag Films in 2007 to Create, Direct and co-produced his second series Grabby-Bag, a 12 X 5 min CGI preschool series for RTE. Art Directed the 78 x 11min series 'Olivia' for Nickelodeon US. Directed and Art Directed 'Noddy in Toyland' (52 X 11min) for TV5.. Directed the Doc Mc Stuffins pilot episode for Disney JR. Supervising Directing and Consulting producer on Peter Rabbit. Supervising Director on 'The Stinky and Dirty show (39 X 11mins) for Amazon Studio's. In 2020 he was promoted to the position of 'Director of visual development' at Brown Bag films over seeing the visual development of many of the studios award winning series including 'Ada Twist', 'Let's get rolling with Otis', and numerous animation test exploring multiple styles in CGI from painterly looks like Olivia and Ada Twist to stop motion styles.
In 2023 he joined Little Moon Animation as Creative Director Serving as executive producer on FIa's Fairies season 2 for RTE & The scavengers a 20 x 11 min sci-fi adventure series that was produced using unreal engine. Key part of his roll was developing in house projects and developing show for with iInternational clients such as Netflix along with attending TV markets like Kidscreen, Annecy & Mip com.
He was invited to be a Member of ' The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences' in 1999 for his ground breaking work on Deep Canvas for Disney's Tarzan and has served on numerous committees to select the 'Animated shorts, live action shorts' and 'Animated features" for the Academy Awards shortlist. He is also a Member BAFTA and ASIFA Hollywood.
