Professional Summary
David has over 20 year’s
experiences in animation. He currently works as a freelance
artist for main of the top studios around the world. As well
as developing several animated TV series both for
preschoolers and older audiences. In January 2005 David
finished production on his first computer animated
television series ‘The
Island of INIS
COOL’,
which was nominated at Italy’s ‘Cartoons on the
Bay’ in 2005. This 26x13 minute series was Created,
Directed and Co-written by David. The series uses a new 3D
computer technique that David developed which has the look
and feel of Clay-animation. Prior to that David worked for
eight years at Walt Disney Feature Animation in
California. Working on Awarding winning films such as
‘The Lion King’, Pocahontas, Hunchback and Hercules.
At Disney, David pushed digital background painting to a new
extreme. On Tarzan he was a key member involved in
the development of a new 3D Painting system called DEEP
CANVAS. This revolutionary technique made it Possible
for Tarzan to fly through three dimensional paintings making
seamless cuts between 3D and 2D backgrounds. Prior to this
he has worked as an Art Director, Background Artist and
effects Artist for many studios in America and Europe.
